3 apricots
1/2 apple
1 peach
1/2 cup pineapple
1 1/3 cup Fage 0% greek Yogurt
1 square Baker’s Yogurt, finely chopped
Blend with ice. Makes four blocks.
This smoothie is quite a departure from previous ones, as I have broken from the strawberry/blueberry mold. Of course I’ve used peach and pineapple before, but this smoothie, lacking the berries, and dominated by peach and apricote, is more of a stone fruit smoothie than a berry smoothie.
I have discovered that I need to cut down on my fruit intake, however. When shifting to the Zone I didn’t have much trouble because it said fruit can be had as your carb blocks. Further refinement of the diet into the more crossfit-focused paleo zone leads me to note that fruit intake should be minimized, because although fruit is still better than refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, grains, or starch, it is still highly sugary. More veggies, less fruit. This will be a challenge. Particularly now that I’ve discovered this best smoothie ever recipe.
