Freedom to be healthy

We were designed to move, to run, to lift, to do–things we rarely think about anymore. Though we claim to be a “fitness” obsessed nation, we are really just an appearance-obsessed nation, a nation obsessed with jeans size and the number on the scale. At this point in my life, I have no idea how much I weigh, but I know that all but one pair of my jeans are too big, and that one pair of jeans looks phenomenal. I know that I love my shape and I really like my butt, which is something I’ve never been able to say before. The funny thing is that though I started CF to “get in shape”, I don’t think about that anymore. I think about improving my next set of cleans, or getting that overhead squat under control. I think about improving my run times or getting one more pull up during the warm-up. Once freed from the unrealistic expectations of society, we’re finally able to find what it means to be healthy.
